I have over 16 years of English teaching experience, gained in well-established language schools in the UK, Spain and Italy. I have worked with children as young as 3 years old, teens and adults - the oldest being a 90-year-old gentleman! I have taught complete beginners through to international PhD students and post-doctoral researchers working in English at a highly advanced level. I have helped a number of students prepare for the Cambridge First Certificate, Advanced and IELTS exams and I have taught Business English in companies, an area which I particularly enjoy. My work often involves coaching for job interviews and formal presentations, assistance with CV writing and guidance with academic papers. I also have wide experience of teaching English in an academic context, having taught on the summer pre-sessional English courses for master’s students at the University of Leeds from 2015 to 2020. Since completing my undergraduate degree in Dance Studies (with performing arts), I have developed considerable language experience through living and working in France, Spain, Italy and currently in Portugal, where I am now based permanently. I have a range of post-graduate level teaching qualifications, including the Cambridge CELTA and DELTA certificates. I also work freelance for Trinity College as an International ESOL Examiner, which has so far involved administering the ISE and GESE oral exams in state and private institutions in Italy and Spain. I have recently embarked on a new venture: a BA in Music Education at the Polytechnic Institute of Porto, with the aim of combining my skills in music, movement and language teaching.
